Wendell is artistic director of Oasis Chorale and a pastor at Interlude. He and his wife Jeanene enjoy cooking, slow meals with friends, travel, and quiet evenings immersed in a book.

Wendell holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Wichita State, a master’s in choral conducting from James Madison, and a doctorate in worship studies from Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies.

Wendell comes alive when considering how a theology-philosophy of the arts and worship intersects with the craft of choral music; he loves exploring how these pursuits can help us become more fully human.
